A brand that’s influenced and lived through more fashion movements than they can count, they have a rich history and a continuous pursuit of quality that’s the foundation of everything they do at Lyle & Scott.

Formed in 1874 when founders, William Lyle and Walter Scott, purchased a factory in Hawick, Scotland, with the ambition of making high-quality knitted underwear.
The now iconic Lyle & Scott logo was launched in the 1960s to coincide with Lyle & Scott’s first foray into golf wear. The Golden Eagle pays homage to the world-famous Scottish golf club, Gleneagles.

Facts:

What was the problem?

As with many organisations these days, Lyle and Scott have staff working in a mix of office, home and remote sites. The management team wanted to be able to interact with staff in more varied and engaging ways than simply sending emails or messages via Teams.

What we needed to achieve for the client?

The brief was to achieve the ability to centrally “take over” PC’s. This would include ensuring a selection of desktop backgrounds could be pushed, advertising internal staff events, or as informative displays for upcoming projects. The ability to enforce specific templates and fonts in Word and Excel, send messages at machine startup and send out polls to gauge feeling across the entire staff base.

What did we do to help?

Q2Q embarked on a significant research project to review products on the market that may fit the requirements of the brief. One offering immediately stood out from the bunch.
Snappcomms ticked all the boxes, it works on multiple OS:- Windows, phones and MacOS.

You can script the installation to deploy to all machines wherever they may be located and it has a fantastic admin panel and software support (For the geeks, it can also sync with Microsoft Active Directory as well as Azure Active Directory!)

Its full list of capabilities include, Desktop Alert, Video Alert, Ticker/RSS Ticker, Screensaver control, Quiz/Survey Deployment, Wallpaper/Lock Screen image deployment, Newsletter push, Emergency Alerts/Panic Button for lone working staff, Employee App with Newsfeed and Social Interactions.

What effect did it have for the client?

Management and staff alike have engaged well with the product and it has already been used for two different informational screensavers and lock screen, multiple ticker messages (interactive banner scrolling across the top of users machines with a message advertising events or news), and a WiFi survey to help get user feedback on WiFi performance in the main HQ.
This is an excellent product and matches perfectly with the brief and needs of our client.

The IT Doctor will see you now!

During the delivery of the product, we sent Damien and Harrison to spend two days at the Lyle and Scott HQ, where they ran an open forum where staff and management alike could book slots, to chat about all things tech, any IT niggles they hadn’t got round to mentioning, or just a friendly catch up with some of the tech chaps who they may have known by voice but not by face. Not all IT wizards are robots!
