Location, Location, Location
Armitstead Barnett moves their Cumbria office to a new location.
Client: Armitstead Barnett
What was the challenge?
After 7 years working from their office within Kendal town centre, Armitstead Barnett required a
larger site for their Cumbria base, having grown considerably to become a market leader.
Lane Farm, Crooklands was selected as it occupies a highly accessible position close to the M6 and
A6 road networks.
How were Q2Q involved?
Q2Q worked with a third-party electrician to design the power and networking layout for the refurb
works, prior to our client moving in. The existing location of the network was unsuitable, so Q2Q
supplied and fitted a new comms cabinet in a preferable location in the building, and all cables were
re-routed.
Once the site was ready, Q2Q assisted in the safe relocation of all IT equipment from the old site to
the new over the weekend to minimise disruption to the working week. Desks were setup, wireless
access points fitted and tested, and network hardware connected to the new cabinet.
What effect did it have for the client?
Due to the prior planning and advice Q2Q was able to provide, everything went smoothly, and the
staff were able to hit the ground running first thing Monday morning. The office has been well
provisioned for both current needs and potential future expansion meaning as more staff are added,
there won’t be any hunting for additional network ports.
Ash and Harrison both enjoyed the best sandwich of their lives, provided by the client, from a local
butty shop!
