4 Ways to Improve the Relationship with Your IT Support Provider
Having a good relationship with your IT partner and suppliers in general is so important, we have put together Four Top Tips for ensuring you maintain a great relationship.
1. Set off on the right foot.
It seems obvious but we come across this time and time again. Suppliers do not get to know their customers enough to ensure that an expert service is delivered. From getting to know any software or infrastructure inside out to putting an IT strategy in place.
It’s important to be open and honest about what you need for your business and what you expect, especially from your IT company so you know what to expect from the beginning.
2. Sit down together regularly
Re-visit your conversations on a regular basis. Are you planning an office move or revamp in the next few months that your provider needs to know about? Are you employing new staff or looking at moving to a new software? When it comes to IT pro-activity is vital to ensure things go as smoothly as possible.
At Q2Q we have 6-month technology reviews with our customers, but it’s important that as a customer you communicate too, and if 6 months isn’t regularly enough- let them know.
3. Be honest with each other
With technology advancing the way it is, majority of IT issues can now be resolved remotely. So don’t be alarmed if you don’t always see your IT team buzzing around the office. It’s also important to remember that there will be A LOT of background work going on a day to day basis.
Remember honesty is so important. At Q2Q we will always make sure you are aware of potential issues that may occur from outdated software/hardware- don’t be offended we will always have your best interests at heart.
4. Report your problems
A small problem that starts to occur daily often becomes extremely irritating. It’s important to log your fault or annoyance that keeps happening early. This will avoid the problem from re-occurring so regularly that it becomes a large issue for you.
As IT providers we can’t monitor what happens on every single customer machine, so it’s important that you let us know; we can’t solve a problem we don’t know about. We know how it annoying it is if you can’t print or it takes you an extra 5 minutes to Log in in the morning- grumble!
