Networking, Breakfast and Cake- the aftermath!
On Friday 25th September we went all out for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Early morning we attended the Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast which saw over 70 companies from across the Lancaster area come together for breakfast and networking.
Helen Soutar from St Johns Hospice and myself set up two large tables of cake- yes cake for breakfast, so that we could celebrate with Macmillan World’s biggest coffee morning.
Loads of people Networked around the cake stand and a fantastic total of £187.50 was made and split between both charities. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who bought cake(s) and made generous donations, and we hope everyone who had cakes brought back to their offices enjoyed them too.
Special thanks goes to Lovable Cakes who donated an absolutely stunning Macmillan Cake that we raffled off. Hays recruitment were the lucky winners and got to take the cake back to their own coffee morning at their offices! We cannot also forget to thank Lancaster Chamber of Commerce for a successful morning of Networking.
We then brought the party back to our offices at CityLab where, over lunch we ate more cake (oops) and drank coffee with the other businesses in the building.
Not only this, but our brave team, braved the shave and shaved off their hair, and in some cases beards. Many of our clients, friends and family sponsored the ‘Brave the Shave’ and we were delighted to have raised a grand total of £672.80 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We could not have done this without The Mens Room Lancaster who gave up two of their stylists for the hour to come and shave the team’s hair.
What a fantastic day and fantastic cause- we are looking forward to next year!!
