Sunderland of Scotland

Q2Q installed its Warehouse Management System (RAWHIDE) at Sunderland of Scotland, giving them an easy-to-manage system with improved control and efficiency.

Sunderland of Scotland are the market-leading golf waterproof company (source: Sports Marketing Services), recently voted for a unique seventh consecutive year by Today's Golfer readers as the best waterproof manufacturer in the UK. The brand is renowned for quality and reliability, with every product designed to a technical specification which will ensure the golfer is protected from the elements.

Following issues with Sunderland's existing ERP system, Q2Q undertook the installation of a replacement SOP, Stock Control (RAWHIDE) system with Sage Line 100 covering the financial functions.

RAWHIDE provides control over purchasing, stock management and subsequent sales. As well as price list by customer capabilities the system also monitors and reports purchase margin and subsequent realised margin on product.

The RAWHIDE system provides forward order and immediate order facilities as well as the control of stock allocation and despatch.  Invoices produced on the system are automatically interfaced into Sage Line 100, where other business feeds are used to produce the business accounts.

Ad-hoc reporting is provided to users through integration with Microsoft Excel, as well as "standard" operational reports.  Alongside this, weekly management reports are produced detailing key performance indicators specifically tailored to business needs and requirements.

Because of the modular structure of the RAWHIDE system, a third party can easily manage the physical stock handling, both in terms of goods received and despatched, as well as anembroidery service, even allowing for the fact that the warehousing and head office are over 250 miles apart.

In addition to the core operational system, which deals with operations, accounts and warehousing; the sales team have access to a data warehouse, which is again integrated with Excel to provide ad-hoc reporting and sales trend analysis.

Plans for Spring 2007

We are currently working to provide direct access to Sunderland's products for the end consumer, by managing the transition of their existing web site to a full e-commerce site with secure online shopping facilities.

Furthermore, existing wholesale customers will have access to a business-to-business portal on the new web site, allowing them direct access to sales and stock information.
